We believe our diversity makes us stronger.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Gale Charitable Trust supports charitable organisations dedicated to fighting the mistreatment of migrants, people seeking asylum and refugees in the UK. It is fuelled by a belief that everybody deserves respect, compassion or the chance to seek a better life and primarily support charities that support migrant communities and refugees. It also provides funding to organisations in a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, community outreach and the arts.

Our Aims

Educating

Much of the discourse around migrant communities, refugees or people seeking asylum in this country is sensationalist, polarising or reliant on myth-making. We support charitable organisations that are working to reconnect Britain with its history, promoting more constructive dialogue around immigration, and adding fact and nuance into these discussions.

Reforming

There are a multitude of policies and systems making life difficult for migrant communities, refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK. We offer financial help to charitable organisations that research the real-world impact of government policy, scrutinise people in power, call out harmful legislation and create novel policy solutions of their own.

Celebrating

Diversity and multiculturalism have been formative in the development of modern Britain, and have helped to make it such a vibrant and dynamic country. While there is still work to do in creating an equal society, it is vital that we also celebrate the achievements and contributions of refugees, people seeking asylum and migrant communities in the UK.
